Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and seen.

When you give to People Places, you’re doing more than donating—you’re creating stability, hope, and opportunity for children in foster care and our community prevention programs. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring commitment, your support has the power to help change a child’s story.

People Places is a 501(c)(3) corporation.

How to Give

Monetary Donations: Can be made online or by mailing a check to: People Places, 1215 N. Augusta St., Staunton, VA 24401.

Donors are able to select a specific program or a more general ‘Area of Greatest Need’. If no program is noted, your donation will go to the ‘Area of Greatest Need’ Fund. See specific program descriptions below:

⃞⃞   Area of Greatest Need: Without restrictions, will be used across all programs wherever the need is greatest.

⃞⃞⃞   COACH Program: Established in 2007 to provide financial assistance to young adults over the age of 18 who age out of the foster care system as a Charlottesville area People Places client. Many of these youth lack family resources to provide them with support and guidance in learning and sustaining the necessary skills and practices of independent adulthood.

⃞⃞⃞   Foster Family Experiences: Helps offset the cost of allowing kids and families to have experiences above and beyond the minimal monthly stipend, e.g., our Annual Santa Train Excursion, amusement park tickets, or other experiences unable to be funded through traditional funding streams.

⃞   NAP Credit Program: Virginia’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), offers state tax credits to donors who support approved organizations assisting low-income individuals. Through this program, eligible donors may receive up to 65% of their donation amount in Virginia tax credits (as available each year).

Minimum donation amounts:
     •  Individuals: $500 (monetary or marketable securities)
     •  Businesses: $616

Before making a NAP-eligible donation, please contact our office to confirm credit availability for the current year. For more information, visit the official Virginia NAP website.

⃞⃞⃞   Prevention Programs (Family and Kinship Services): Help support healthier home environments by providing essential items such as furniture, cleaning supplies, clothing, and more.

Amazon Wishlist: As a non-profit organization, we rely on community support. We created our ‘Wishlist’ so donors can easily access our needs.

Donated Goods: We greatly appreciate all the generous donations we receive. We accept a variety of items based on our current needs. Currently, we do not accept most used items due to liability and health concerns. If you would like to donate goods or services, contact info@peopleplaces.org.
